Salvador Brazil Food
Salvador is considered by many to be the most gay friendly city in Brazil, and here are some of the best places to eat and drink in Salvador de Bahia. It is not normally a destination for most visitors to Brazil who flock to Rio, Sao Paulo or the Amazon, but those visiting Salvadorde Bahia in the northeast are usually unaware that it is home to the world's largest gay community of more than 1.5 million people.

My favourite restaurant in Salvador de Bahia is the Donana, but I personally am a big fan of Acaraje, one of the most popular restaurants in the city. This food should be imbued with the "do what you eat it" mentality, and it's so popular across Salvador. I just ate it with a friend in a restaurant on the outskirts of Salvador, in front of a small church.
Here in Brazil there are so many different types of food that there is a good chance that everyone will find something for everyone. In general, Brazilian cuisine is so diverse that you just have to experiment with it. I will describe some of my favorite dishes in Salvador de Bahia and some other places in the city.
